Guilty of showing favor to others and not esteeming all! Saying, “Oh, but who are they?! I don’t have time for that one because who are they anyway?! I need to talk to so-and-so because aren’t they so much farther in the things of God than that one! I don’t have time because I have so much to do for God right now and I don’t SEE you as part of that in this moment! Guilty! Oh, but it was buried so deep in our minds, these thoughts that we hide within ourselves! We DON’T think like this, do we?! Not US! But we deceive ourselves! We do because our ACTIONS are showing JUST THAT when we don’t have time for people that God puts in front of us PHYSICALLY. We do because our actions are showing that we do place a “higher value” on different people in our lives when we don’t take the time to consider their needs above our own. We have FORGOTTEN how to treat our brother as ourself!
Guilty! And so am I! I am guilty!
God we REPENT right now for not LOVING ALL EQUALLY in our lives like YOU DO! We repent of only viewing some people in the light of WHAT THEY CAN DO FOR US and how much it will COST US IN TIME, MONEY, and LOVE!
We REPENT and WE ASK YOU TO HEAL US OF OUR SELFISHNESS NOW!
Forgive us, and we will be forgiven!
Heal us, and we will be healed!
Help us to love, and we will be like You!
Change us into the image of Your Son Jesus, and we will be changed!
🚷📖James 2-Favoritism Forbidden📖🚷
1My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism. 2Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. 3If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” 4have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?
5Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? 6But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? 7Are they not the ones who are blaspheming the noble name of him to whom you belong?
8If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,”a you are doing right. 9But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. 10For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. 11For he who said, “You shall not commit adultery,”b also said, “You shall not murder.”c If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.
12Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 13because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
